A moderately sized place that serves “Nordic bistro fare, hearty and uncomplicated dishes”. Dishes are served family style and portions are small enough that the waitress recommended we order several sides/snacks and 2 main portions. She was spot on and that still left us with room for dessert.
The green salad with Nobis dressing was average
whereas the roasted fennel with chopped almond and tarragon was delicious.
The new potatoes with butter and herbs were creamy and fresh and with the nice bread made plenty of starch for the meal.
I really liked the pork which was roasted and then deep fried and served with a curry-like sauce, rocket and apples. My companion found it dry and preferred the grilled char from Ostersund which was nicely moist, but hit less of a home run with me.
Finishing on a high note was the chocolate brownie with salt and caramel dessert, that really hit the spot!
Next time you should try the “Krog” restaurant at Oaxen, it is truly amazing!
Thanks, we will! When we were there we only had a lunch spot open and Oaxen wasn’t open, so it’s on our list should we get back. So many restaurants to visit…….
