What a surprise this place was! It was a fair walk and seemed to be in a residential community but it was a delight and worth the effort. It was a rainy day but otherwise the tables overlooking or in the back garden would be a wonderful place to eat. Apparently it was a place journalists often met over food and in fact that day a group was in a bigger room and the waiter said they were writers. Who knows?

Anyway it seems to be in an older house and so the dining rooms are divided into several small areas. It kept is quiet and cozy. The waiter was great fun and very helpful in decision making.

Starting with in house made breads, the accompanying carrot spread was different and quite good. They make different breads every day and the waiter recommended we come back and hope to get the coca-cola and ginger bread – a crowd favorite. The veal carpaccio was a huge portion but believe me, none of it was left – yum! The foie gras didn’t exactly make me think of Carmen Miranda but the variety of tropical fruit (passion fruit, pineapple, plum, etc.) was a tasty way to serve it. Charles endorsed his codfish but I had little room as the lamb burger was great. The yogurt sauce was filled with herbal tastes and just a little pepper kick. The salad with it was raw cauliflower. We couldn’t decide on dessert and the waiter suggested the “sweet things” which turned out to be small portions of most of their other desserts and a few others. The cheese ice cream was the only one I didn’t devour!
