A tiny little place in a hidden plaza, but that doesn’t keep the folks away. We sat on the enclosed heated porch and understand in warmer weather they spread tables out onto the plaza. Seemed like many of the locals knew the place and the staff knew the folks coming in. We were lucky enough to be with some of those local people who helped direct our ordering.
Everything was fresh and tasty. The baccala on polenta was some of the best I’ve had, and it’s everywhere in Venice. On the fritto misto platter were some reddish ‘shrimp’ (and I hesitate to call them that because there are so many varieties of things that look like shrimp but have their own name and species) that were delicious! There were also several kinds of fish, each with their own taste but all good. The tiramisu was nothing special but it didn’t need to be, just a small sweet finish to an absolutely wonderful meal. Now I have to wonder was it the food or the company and I know it was both!
