This little restaurant was quite a find – the best meal we had in Frankfurt! They use local and seasonal ingredients to produce a really quality product. (We were in luck to visit during asparagus season). The interior is small but when weather permits the patio just about doubles their size. Everyone working there was extremely helpful and friendly.

The menu has limited options and after quizzing the waitress about many she suggested they prepare a tasting menu for us with smaller portions so that we might taste more offerings. They then offered to create matching wine pairings of German wines. It worked perfectly! The amuse bouche of beef aspic was chewy and a perfect match for the ubiquitous green sauce of Frankfurt. We then moved to the asparagus soup which was amazing! The crusty bread was great for soaking up every bit. The menu continued to soar with the smooth and buttery foie gras and an asparagus risotto filled with tiny, sweet fresh peas. The beef was tasty enough but hard to keep pace with the previous courses, but the rich Hollandaise would make anything taste terrific and again we were treated with wonderful fresh asparagus. The strawberry dessert was good as was the pineapple crumble. The wine pairing were lovely and generous. All in all a perfect meal! We tried to get another reservation during our stay but unfortunately too many people have discovered this reasonably priced taste explosion experience, so we’ll just have to go back to Frankfurt!
