Maybe Lately’s is a small place in the little town of Viroqua, in the Driftless region.  Known for their creative dishes for breakfast and lunch, they also have Detroit style pizza on Monday nights.  We were there for breakfast and they had a few tables in the front entry room, a couple high-tops along the wall to the kitchen and a large patio out the side door.  Music in the kitchen bled into the dining area and the decorations were an eclectic mix, including a “shrine” to Dolly Parton, which apparently was there before her recent passing.  There was a lot of hype for their cinnamon rolls but unfortunately they are only available on Sat and Sun.  Our server, Davielle, was very friendly and helpful, pointing out that the sides menu offers a lot of smaller portions in case we wanted to try more things.  The food was not only creative and made with high quality ingredients but also very tasty.  I’d be a regular if I lived closer.
