What a great way to start our trip! A small place filled with a mix of locals and tourists but the waiters are happy to see all. We were there at lunch and my understanding is that it’s much calmer then than at dinner. They have a house wine but it was pretty rough so we ordered off the very reasonable list with the waiter being more than happy to take back the house carafe. They are well known for several things but most spectacular is their eggs and artichokes.

The eggs are swirled producing a soft scrambled effect and the artichoke is in the center. It was magical! We split a pasta with meat sauce and they were once again most willing to oblige our split request. It was fine but only a filler till our chicken arrived. The breasts are coated in flour, dipped in egg and then cooked in a pan of butter which browns and gives the breasts a most incredible flavor as well as keeps them juicy and tender. The steak was nice but the chicken was the star. We added some greens to feel healthy and even though they were called rapini there was none of the bitterness that that is always present in the ones we get here. The bread is served but you only pay for it if you eat it, but you’ll want it to mop up all that fabulous browned butter! YUM!

  1. Thanks for the reviews! I’ve really enjoyed reading through them across all the cities, and will be using them as we plan future mini trips in Europe!
I wish I read this review sooner – I too visited this place based off of chowhound requests but didn’t order the eggs and artichoke!!!
Oh well – reason to visit again one day!
