Another repeat from last trip with less successful results. Last time was lunch with a vibrant dining room and the chef coming by the table. This time for dinner and we were one of 2 tables in the dining room but waiter said upstairs was full and the chef didn’t choose to come by our table, but our waiter was super friendly even with the slow service. The meal started with the same amuse bouche as before but this time the cheese biscuits were cold and dry and the soup seemed pasty and the fish overly strong.

The second amuse of meats and mango was a tastier despite being an odd combination. We had the risotto last time, presented piping hot at the table by the chef. This visit is was warm and the mushrooms forgot to add any taste to the overly gummy and dull dish. It should have sung to us. The snails were plump and well seasoned but almost to a fault with the seasoning reminding me too much of Progresso breadcrumb mix. The sweet breads were nice but totally overwhelmed by the amount of beans they came with. The lamb was uneventful and thus after several hours to get this far we opted to not order dessert but both complimentary offerings were quite tasty but not enough to redeem the meal. The best part of the evening was finding places to pose Frankie in! Next visit this won’t be on the agenda.
