A small place with a fairly modern design that has a friendly staff, MAK offers a good deal for dining at lunch. It started a little slow but then the food picked up and every dish was better than the one before. It was a perfect amount of food for lunch. There is a 2 or 3 course menu with a couple choices for each course. If those don’t appeal there is a la carte also.We chose the 3 course option but we both wanted the same choices so there’s not as many pictures as some days but everything we had was well prepared, nicely plated and very tasty.

We started with the Jerusalem artichoke soup that was garnished with bits of capers and sticks of vegetables that gave some texture to this velvety liquid. It’s taste was mild but quite pleasant.

Next was the pork served with baby bok choy, not the listed chard. The Mangalica pork is supposed to be well marbled and this was! It was incredibly juicy and tender – every bite a succulent explosion. The mashed potatoes were accented with potato cream which was divine. I mopped up every bit with their crusty bread.

The dessert, Paris Brest was served with crunchy sweet apples bursting with taste. The topping on the pastry was sweet and delicious and combined perfectly with the center custard. This was a WOW and lick the plate dish! We ordered some coffee afterwards and were treated to a couple great bites to go with it – both excellent. We had a final finish with a glass of their apricot spirits – a perfect ending.
