It hasn’t been long since Frankie’s last visit to Al Covo but she always enjoys the food and hospitality there. Thought we’d include a few pictures of what we had that evening but warn you that we ordered primarily from the specials that evening so it may not be available when you go. However it’s fun to watch the food evolve as does the physical facility. This time they’d put in new seating and tables. Always moving and that may be why it is one of the best places in Venice.

The kitchen gift was codfish soup which was chocked full of stuff and flavor. I devoured every bite.

For first plates we had spider crab and small shrimp and polenta pieces. The crab was sweet with hardly any shell bits. The small shrimp were fun too but I think I slightly preferred the crab. The combination was a feature that evening. We also had some fried artichokes but we were having so much fun eating I never got a photo of them but they are featured on past visits to Al Covo.

Scorpion fish was cooked in a bag with potatoes, tomatoes and scallops along with mixed wild rice and brought to the table still steaming in the bag. Cut open there you were enveloped in the aromas and various wonderful odors. It was filled with fun stuff that all blended well and was a delicious treat.

I couldn’t resist a piece of Diane’s dark chocolate cake for dessert. If you like chocolate you have to get this if you get anywhere near her place. They brought some scoops of ice cream to eat with it.

A tray of her wonderful cookies helped finish off another fabulous evening there.

Great review that certainly sounded like fun!
