Restaurant Prinsen, Stockholm, 6/25/15

A larger restaurant that’s been in business since 1897! We were too late arriving for a lot of lunch places, but this place serves its menu all day long, but it is strange to eat with so few other people. We selected two traditional dishes of Stockholm. Shrimp toast is like shrimp salad on a buttery chunk of toast. The shrimp had an almost chewy texture more like a lobster and they were quite tasty on their own but eaten with the buttery toast the dish elevated to an even better level. We shared a large but could have easily gotten by with a medium size as the portions turned out to be generous. Next we had Swedish meatballs which were quite good especially when eaten with the delicious pickled cucumber and sweet ligonberries. We accompanied the generous food with a local brew for a completely satisfying meal.
