Tickets is a hot reservation to get in Barcelona and is one of several restaurants run by Albert and Ferran Adria. It was my least favorite of the several that we visited. Here the atmosphere trumped the food. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t bad but too much had been put into the theme of being a an old-time movie theater. The staff was mostly helpful but didn’t look like they
enjoyed working there and it felt like they pushed the same choices on guests rather than trying to determine what might suit one vs another. This is one of a growing trend of restaurants that wants to fool the guest with food. For example, the olives were just a burst of olive flavored liquid rather than an actual olive. Too many get lost in this pursuit in my opinion and once you’ve had the experience you have no desire to go again. In summary not a lost meal but a disappointment after reading all the hype about the place.
