A large and very old school place with white coat waiters and everything labeled with their name. The service was efficient but not particularly personable, however they got the job done. We started with their green lasagna which was really great. It was a good balance of things, all tasty.

For our main plate we had the boiled meat cart which comes to the table and I’m guessing if you know how you could ask for one meat over another but as novices we just took the sampler plate. It included turkey, veal, pork and lamb on the bone. The lamb was the only one worth eating as all the others were way too dry. We were told they had fresh peas and so ordered them also. They seemed more fresh from a can to me. Good but not the delicious taste I hoped for.

Start strong and finish strong and no one will remember the middle and that works for this place. We saw another table getting ice cream dipped at the table and inquired about it to find out that they were serving it with special Bolognese cherries. We asked for extra cherries and wow was it ever good! The ice cream was smooth and thick but really just served as an adornment to these spectacular cherries. Amazing. We also were tempted by the cart with the creme caramel and so had them cut us a piece of it. Also, very good but the cherries were definitely the star. I’d go back just to have them and the lasagna!
