Pettigru Place Bed and Breakfast is in the historic district of downtown Greenville. The tree-lined street is mostly businesses and other B & Bs in the older large homes. The Federal-style home has 6 guest rooms that come with breakfast every day. They alternate between sweet and savory days but are 2 or 3 courses with very generous portions. They were so lovely I thought I’d include them in this blog. Here are 3 mornings’ indulgences. Sorry, Frankie didn’t make an appearance – she likes to sleep in.

Day One
We started with lovely sweet fresh fruit. The cinnamon roll pancakes were something I haven’t had but really enjoyed. They had some cinnamon sugar mixture drizzled onto the pancake when half done and it made it look just like someone had sliced a cinnamon roll instead. They didn’t need syrup but were a perfect sweet breakfast. The bacon was crisp and flavorful.

Day Two
Today the fruit was on a graham cracker crust tart filled with lime custard and topped with strawberries, kiwi and blueberries. It was divine. I asked for a smaller portion of the main course knowing lunch was on the calendar. They complied. Bloody Mary Eggs were house-made focaccia topped with tomato, pepper jelly, bacon and egg (your way – over easy). It was a really fun combination of ingredients.

Day Three
Our last breakfast was a plate of fresh fruit followed by 3 small Dutch Baby pancakes topped with cherry pie filling. The almond seemed to be in the flavoring of the pancake. These are two flavors that work well together and they did so here. Yummy.
