My Mexican Restaurant (update), Point Arena, CA., 8/22/24

building – 206 Main St, Point Arena, CA 95468
We visited the Mexican Restaurant in Point Arena in Nov. of 2023 and had a fine meal so we popped in for a snack.  I noticed it’s now “My” Mexican Restaurant but you’ll know it when you see the “Uneda Meat Market” sign on the building.  The place hasn’t changed except that in addition to the radio on the TV was also playing and unmuted.  It’s a small place with little staff -one in front and one in the kitchen.  Things are made to order and are of good quality.  I will gladly stop by them again when in need of a Mexican food fix.

Food

Chips are thick and crisp.  The salsa is mild but with good flavor and enhances the other foods.  I like that they don’t send out so much that you feel overwhelmed, but we had eaten some before I snapped the photo.

One of us got the Gordita Plate which has 2 thick corn tortillas stuffed with your choice of meat, cheese and pico de gallo and comes with salad, rice and beans.  We got one Al Pastor which is pork shoulder that is marinated, grilled then diced.  The other was Birria which is beef chuck steak stewed in spices, chilies, and tomatoes then diced.   The other of us got just the same 2 gorditas without rice and beans.  They still come with the pico de gallo on the side.  The corn was nicely thick and well crisped on the gordita shell.  Both meats were good with the barria being very well seasoned.  The salsa was wonderful with both.  I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the fillings they offer.
