The Inn at Little Washington breakfast, Washington, VA., 11/14/25

seating – Middle and Main Streets, Washington, VA 22747

With the rooms at The Inn at Little Washington a basic breakfast is included.  They also offer a la carte selections for an additional charge or you can chose a package that includes those selections too.  The basic breakfast includes a flight of seasonal juices, yougurt, fruit and granola, breads and coffee of tea.  Cocktails are available for an extra charge as are special coffee drinks.  Overall, breakfast was dull but if it comes with your room you might as well.  That said I wouldn’t advise paying for the extra selections as they weren’t that tasty.

The flight of seasonal  juices included (L to R) orange-grapefruit, apple-fennel, mixed berry and cucumber-mint.  None really made me want to drink it all.  The breads were croissants, banana muffins and brioche toast.  The croissants were nicely flakey, good and large.  The muffin was strongly banana flavored and the toast blah.

Yogurt, fruit and their Signature Granola were presented as a parfait, like at many B & Bs. The granola was nicely crunchy but the fruit looked old and had little flavor.  The granola mixed with yogurt is usually fine and this was, but nothing exceptional.

The Omelette of the day came with a  home-fried potato waffle, and bacon, sausage or both.  The omelette was filled with caramelized onions and goat cheese and it was plated with a tomato tartlet and the potato waffle.  The omelette was quite lightly filled and small for $25.  The bacon was dull but the sausage was good.  The tartlet was tasty but the hashbrowns turned into a waffle shape didn’t have the crisp they needed.

  1. You’re killing it with your site traffic, and let’s hope for a good 2026 and that the Google algorithm gods are kind, especially after the December 11th update.

    1. Thanks! I published fewer posts but still 215,400 views from 142,200 visitors! As I age I’m finding I need a little more time between trips and that slows my pace but still love finding a restaurant gem. The algorithm gods of google and other search engines are very much in control of who finds your posts. I hope they will continue to be kind in 2026 to both of us! Happy New Year!

      1. Well, I’m sure they’re implementing AI finally to rank the quality of content, so that’s why your content does well. It’s not just the algorithm, but the fact you’re producing legit content (most media outlets struggle to do that). Well, HNY.

      2. Thanks for your support and kindness! You are producing interesting content too! If I cooked I know I could make use of more of your posts!
