The place for seafood in NYC! Eric Ripert has led his team to a 3 star Michelin rating for several years now, and the accolades are well deserved. The dining room is one large room with a bar/waiting area located on one side of a wall. The opposite end of the room is filled with a huge painting of a wave which perfectly sets the tone for the place. Totally professional service is part of the what you’re paying for

in this well regarded restaurant. Fish tends to be a milder tasting entree so it’s hard to say the flavor quotient blows you away here but maybe because of the freshness and care in preparation the nuances of flavor are enough to satisfy. Lunch is a wonderful way to sample this divine place for a slightly more reasonable price. This time we started with the raw tuna layered over amazing foie gras. Total plate licker – (if this place had just a little more casual vibe)! We had the snapper for 2 rather than individual orders. The fish is prepared in a herb-salt crust and served with a side vegetable gratin. The fish must be ordered in advance. It was superb as was the vegetable side. Both desserts were a fine finish to a spectacular meal and then they brought an extra piece of a moist and chewy cake. YUM to all!
