Breakfast at Twin Farms was in the main house’s dining area. The porch addition was used the 2 days we went to breakfast. It had been re-done last year whereas the barn-looking dining room was re-done in 1993. This porch room had windows on 2 sides that looked out on the patio and grounds. A fireplace was at one end and the stone tables were set with heavy stuffed chairs. Fresh flowers were always on the tables. After you select your order the staff brought a pastry of the day for you to snack on while you await your food. Coffee, juice and alcoholic drinks were available in this lowered ceiling room with art on the walls.

The daily pastry was Nutella pastry. It was good.

The Green Mountain Omelet included smoked Vermont ham, clothbound cheddar and mushrooms. My husband added the daily potato which was truffle chive croquettes and some toast for which some butter and housemade jam were presented. The fluffy omelet had good ingredients and was tasty but the toast was on the dry side. The potatoes had a good crisp exterior with a mashed potato interior and were good.

Butterworks Farms Buttermilk pancakes could be ordered with additions but I preferred plain with butter and locally made maple syrup. I added some housemade bacon and an over-easy egg. The fairly thick pancake was okay but much better doused with the sweet maple syrup. The bacon was smokey and there was a small side salad that felt out of place.

The breakfast bread was a Kouign-Amann which was tasty but not the best rendition. The sweet topping sank to the bottom so all the sticky was there. The top part did not have enough butter to make the pastry into layers, instead, it was doughy. The overall result was nice but could have been way better.

The Breakfast sandwich was made with eggs your way, house-made bacon (or sausage), Vermont cheddar and served on an English muffin. Our server suggested having the eggs scrambled with bacon and so we did. Both bacon and English muffin were made in-house. It was a well stuffed and tasty breakfast sandwich. The eggs stayed moist and the muffin was soft with a bit of chew. There was a ton of crisp bacon on the sandwich that added good smokey flavor. We added an order of Hasselback Fingerlings which were wonderfully spiral-cut potatoes that were fried to a perfect buttery crisp while still retaining lovely potato flavor.

Breakfast is my favorite and that looked delicious!
I like the posting of the address at the top, as well.
Their beginning breads were quite good!
Shoot…I was hoping you’d try the corned beef hash! I always look for a homemade version on the menu when I go out for breakfast, but I’m disappointed far more often than not.
Thanks! I usually try to sample something sweet and something savory and I’m with you hash often falls short. I’ll try to keep it in mind tho.
Where are you trying in London this time?
Or have you already been and gone?
Thanks! Haven’t been yet and still getting reservations and waiting for some to open their bookings. Give me a couple days and I’ll get you a list. Any hot suggestions? We have about a month. Also trip to Madrid in the making. Open there too, but did snag a Diver XO!
Yes let me know a list and maybe I can suggest a few others.
Hope you had a fun holiday. So far we’re looking at Ledbury, French House, Aulis, Bouchon Racine, Mountain, So/la, Quality Chop House, Devonshire, Dorian – we’re trying to stay in SoHo for dinner, where we can walk. Wondering about Frog for lunch. Open to ideas and thanks!
