Frankie visited F Street Station almost 3 years ago and it hasn’t changed much. We saw the same chef in the kitchen and the place is very popular. They have a number of beers, cocktails and wines by the glass and bottle. The cheese hunk was back after having disappeared during the height of Covid, but it still wasn’t getting much action. They offer lots of seafood and had our favorite fried halibut during our last trip and I’m here to tell you it is still excellent.
Beer battered Alaskan Halibut is deep fried and served with lemon, fries and your choice of jalapeno or tartar sauce. It comes in 2 sizes and we got large or about 8 chunks. The fries were single fry, so not too crisp but full of good potato flavor. The halibut was excellent and stayed nicely moist encased in the crispy light shell of coating. I would go get this regularly if I lived closer.
Sauteed scallops (or shrimp) is cooked in olive oil and butter with garlic, shallots, herbs, white wine, mushrooms and tomato. It is served with lemon and bread or you can add pasta for $1. We ordered scallops and no pasta but unfortunately our order was given to someone else and we were served a mix of shrimp and scallops. They apologized and quickly sent out another large plate of scallops to add to our dish. The plate was covered with grated parmesan and the sliced bread was along the side. Both seafoods were perfectly cooked and delicious. The sauce was full of flavor and depth of taste, with garlic taking front and center. It was another delicious plate of food.
